KG 1 Theme Day – Magic of Phonics

KG 1 students presented the Theme Day titled "Magic of Phonics" on the 12th and 13th of February 2026—an event aimed at building a strong foundation for meaningful language acquisition. The students' presentations had three stages, during which the parents witnessed their wards' remarkable progress throughout the year.

In the 'Sound Safari', children confidently introduced letter sounds and demonstrated how they learned them in class. Through activities like Spin the Wheel and Fishing Fun, students explained phonics concepts with great enthusiasm. In the 'Word Wizardry' stage, they decoded the words with confidence. Interactive games such as Snakes and Ladders, Puzzles, and Sight Word Fishing made the event engrossing. In the Magic of Reading, the final stage, they confidently demonstrated the transition from phonetic awareness to independent reading. Students read sentences, explored short storybooks, and completed simple sentence-writing activities.

The Theme day portrayed children's learning journey from recognising sounds to reading and writing with confidence, enthusiasm, and joy. The parents' participation made the celebration even more special, strengthening the bond between school and home.
