Pongal Celebrations 2025

Yuvabharathi Nursery's Pongal celebration, held on the 10th of January 2025, was a resplendent ethnic day, mirroring a traditional village Pongal festival. The children took a procession to insist on "Pugaiyila Bogi (Smokeless Bogi)" and thanked the cattle that help the farmers. The school campus was decorated with fragrant flowers and elegant thoranams, preparing to celebrate Pongal. Sugarcane stems were stacked, symbolising sweetness and prosperity. The children, dressed in traditional attire, painted and decorated small Pongal pots. The girls danced to a Kummi song around the Pongal pot while the boys delivered a Devarattam performance. The joyful chant of "Pongalo Pongal" brought smiles to the children's faces. A few children made speeches to share their Pongal greetings. Pongal celebrations inspired the children to cherish our traditional values and cultural practices.
